Exploring Different Phases of PM Laptop Scheme
Date of Initiation PM laptop scheme was formed on May 23, 2014 with the aim to award the students in different and useful ways to those students who achieved higher marks. As of 2024, the 3rd Phase of this Education Venture is Underway.
Phase 1: The 1st phase of the scheme was based on the marks obtained by the students or grades (increasing up to) the academic year 2013-2014. It also motivated the students. During the year 7,176 from all over the country received the laptop, computer with internet access for one year under the phase 1 of the scheme.
Phase 2: The second phase was between 2014-2015. The scheme was eligible for those students who will get marks for 448 (or grade) C during the academic year. Now the laptops had an extra quality that were detachable with free EVO connection and mobile SIM enabled.
Phase 3: The announcement of phase iii is that they will provide laptops to the students. This project has been approved by ECNEC as the Prime Minister Youth Laptop Scheme (PMYLS) phase iii. According to this, the PM wanted to give a facility in the form of laptop to the high achiever, shining and young students who are continuing the studies in Public sectors Higher Education Institutes (HEis) across Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

Eligibility Criteria for laptop scheme in 2024
The applicant must have a valid CNIC/ B-Form number. Students enrolled in Ph.D./ MS/ MPhil or equivalent 18-year program. Students enrolled in a 4-year or 5-year bachelor’s degree program (morning and evening).
How to Apply for PM Laptop Scheme 2024
Students who can apply for the laptop scheme: The eligibility criteria for awarding laptops to the students is that they must be studying in Public Sector Universities/Degree Awarding Institutes duly recognized by HEC. Students must be enrolled till June 30, 2024.
