Details of Subsidy on Seasonless Cultivation of Tomato

A special subsidy is being given for off-season cultivation of tomatoes in selected districts of Punjab. If the farmer cultivates tomatoes before November 15, he will be given a subsidy of Rs 1 lakh per acre. This subsidy will be of great help to the farmers, as it will cover the costs of crop preparation.

پنجاب کے منتخب اضلاع میں ٹماٹر کی بے موسمی کاشت کے لیے خصوصی سبسڈی دی جا رہی ہے۔ اگر کسان 15 نومبر سے پہلے ٹماٹر کی کاشت کرتا ہے، تو اسے فی ایکڑ 1 لاکھ روپے کی سبسڈی دی جائے گی۔ یہ سبسڈی کاشتکاروں کے لیے ایک بہت بڑی مدد ثابت ہوگی، کیونکہ اس سے فصل کی تیاری کے اخراجات کو پورا کیا جا سکے گا۔

Eligibility Conditions for Subsidy

To get this subsidy, the farmer has to follow the departmental recommendations. The farmer will be eligible for the subsidy only for 50% of the area, i.e., the subsidy will be given to those farmers who have cultivated half of their land. Only farmers from seven selected districts can apply for this subsidy, which includes:

  • Khushab
  • Chakwal
  • DG Khan
  • Attock
  • Rajanpur
  • Rawalpindi
  • Jhelum

This subsidy is for the farmers who live in these particular districts and cultivate crops there. For this, the applicant must be a resident of the concerned district.

Procedure For Applying For Subsidy

Farmers can get the proposed application form for this subsidy from the concerned offices. The form will be available from the following offices:

  • Divisional Director, Agriculture Extension Office
  • E-Director of Agriculture Extension Office
  • Office of the Deputy Director of Agriculture Horticulture
  • Assistant Director, Agriculture Extension Office

After submission of the application form, a draw will be held at the office of the concerned Director of Agriculture Extension in each district to select the farmers to receive the subsidy.

Documents Required To Apply

If the applicant owns the land, he/she must provide proof of individual ownership. If the applicant is cultivating the land on contract, he has to submit proof of contract, affidavit, and affidavit. These documents will confirm that the applicant is indeed the owner or contractor of the land.

Appeal Procedures on Rejected Applications

If an application is rejected, the applicant may submit an appeal to the office of the concerned Director of Agriculture Extension. The decision to grant or reject the appeal shall be that of the Director concerned, and such decision shall be final.
